Oh so pretty!

The fashion world has recently been stunned by the fair amount of neon colours hitting the runway again this season. Pastels are a refreshing palette cleanser with delicious ice cream, candyfloss and sherbert shades which hit the runway in the NYFW Spring 2012 with light, soft, airy shades of green, yellow, pink & orange.

Palette colours add a soft feminine look which is both girly and flattering even when wearing soft airy colour suits such as the yellow blazer and trousers shown above.

These spring hues also made an appearance in footwear, handbags and also accessories.

Techniques of colourblocking and styling alongside prints and monochrome also made an appearance on the runway. The technique of colourblocking in my opinion was the hottest look on the runway showing off this seasons flirty pastels. My favourite look was by Phillip Lim (shown below)created  the gorgeous sherbert flavoured look using mint green alongside the pastel purple and peach, creating the perfect feminine office look with a black bag to add a touch of masculinity to the lighthearted look.

The refreshing mix of pastels shown on the runway has made an appearance just in time, giving fashion a girly makeover away from dark shades from AW/11. The feminine palette has proved that it can be flirty, quirky, bold and also versatile day or night.
